JAWS

Since it's the summer, I think now would be a good time to write a review on one of Summers most shocking films...

"JAWS" is about a shark that invades the waters of Amity Island and feeds on helpless swimmers. Police Chief Martin Brody (Roy Schieder) wants to close the beaches after a shark attack on a teenage girl, but The Mayor of the Island (Murray Hamilton) wants to keep the beaches opened for the money. The Shark still terrorizes the Island, so chief Brody then hires a Biologist (Richard Dreyfuss) and a shark hunter (Robert Shaw) to kill the Shark.

I thought the movie was one of the best thrillers I have ever seen, and to a lot of people who saw the movie back in 1975 they were so afraid of this movie that they wouldn’t even go swimming. The directing for the film is amazing, especially when it films the people’s legs under water to make you see through the shark's eyes. The script writing is well written, especially the part where Robert Shaw gives his Indianapolis speech. What I think really makes the film a lot suspenseful is John Williams Score for the movie. The Shark in the film at a couple of times can look fake, but most of the time can look real, in fact, in the scene when Richard Dreyfuss's character is in the shark cage they did use a fake shark but believe it or not they also used real shark footage.

So if you are looking for a good summer film and something suspenseful this is the movie. The Directing is great, the script writing is good and the music score is out of this world.

My rating for this film is a 5/5.
