THE VILLAGE (SHORT FILM)

Here's a mini review on a 14 minute animated film called...

THE VILLAGE

Set in a village where people sin, there lives a man who lives peacefully and tries the best he can to live happily, however, he gets framed for a murder and the towns people turn against him. What I truly love about this short is there's not much dialogue or a narrator, it's all done in mime leaving the viewer to perceive the story by themselves. The animation is simple, yet very satisfying as well as being artistic and creative at points. The story has a great set up with this sinful village as well as having such very hateful characters except for our protagonist and his wife. I also enjoy viewing the many mini subplots to these characters and observing what they do when no is looking. The climax to the story is great and holds you on the edge of your seat hoping that our protagonist will get out of the village, while we hope to see the antagonist get what he deserves. To my surprise, I found the film to be better than what I expected it to be and for it's use of storytelling, animation style and characters, this is a short film I defiantly recommend you see.

RATING 5/5
