GRAVITY

I was just at the theater recently and since it's a thriller, I'm putting it on Halloween Month. I give you my review on...

Sandra Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone who's a specialist at bio-Medical engineer on her first mission in Space. She is accompanied by George Clooney as Matt Kowalski and a space crew to help her on her mission. However, something goes wrong due to debris from a Russian missile strike on a defunct satellite which causes a chain reaction of destruction and Dr.Stone and Matt are now trapped in space and are now struggling for survival.

The film only has two actors throughout the main portion of the film but instead of Clooney being the star, it's Bullock. The acting from our two stars is excellent! Bullock's performance is very intense while Clooney gives his charming approach and the chemistry between them is really fun. Yeah, Clooney is sort of just playing himself but he's still a lot of fun to watch and to be with. Bullock's performance is so intense and realistic that you're just as scared as she is. The dialogue while being a little bit out of place for a thriller, it's still fun and enjoyable and to me that's a minor thing wrong with the movie. Hey, at least Clooney's dialogue isn't as  bad as his dialogue in "Batman And Robin"!

What really amazes about the film is, I never thought I'd see a space film in our generation that would be just as great and experiencing as Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey"! That's what this film is, an experience film. To really watch this film and feel the experience, you have to either see it in a theater or on the biggest TV screen as possible with a great sound system! The cinematography and special effects are just beautiful! Yeah, perhaps CGI was used in this film, but it was done in the way that CGI should be used for. Once you see the stars, the planet Earth, the sunrise and so on in this film, you literally feel like you're in space! On top of it, the thrills never stop because while enjoying the beauty of space you feel just as scared as Sandra Bullock. You feel trapped while watching it, the sound of her heavy breathing is unsettling, the music, sound, silence and lack of communication to other people makes you feel isolated while watching it and again the acting from our characters are the reason why you feel either scared or enjoying the beauty. There's also plenty of action, suspense, shock scares, use of 3-D and moments that make you question until later on. Yeah the film doesn't always follow laws in space but again I don't it all distracting either since the film is so good at convincing you, that you're in space.

Gravity is one of the best experiences that I ever had in film and I suggest you should see it as soon as possible while it's still in theaters!

RATING 5/5
