28 DAYS LATER
A virusus has spread that turns people into zombies and the survivors are seeking a way out of Britain. The survivors find an army base that can protect them but they are just as crazy and mad as the zombies. That's pretty much your plot. It's pretty creative but it has the cliches from early films such as "Last Man On Earth" and "Night Of The Living Dead".
The film has a lot of good things going for it. First off, I enjoy the shots and suspense of our main character being trapped alone making the viewers think that it's going to be a film about one guy trapped in a city with no civilazation except for zombies. I like that the ressitance are acting more like monsters then humans. As for the Zombies they're pretty scary and I enjoy the gore in this flick. The climax is also very cool and held me on the edge of my seat. With all the good things said, most of this stuff has been done to death before and the only new thing I think this film has is fast moving zombies and maybe being turned into a zombie by the effect of zombie blood, that's about it.
The characters in this film suck! They're very dry and bland, they're not interesting and some are just complete idoits. What really kills them is the acting, my god is it awful. When there's a dramatic moment their reactions and acting are so bad that it's laughable, there's a young girl with no personality, our main character Jim can't act for spit, the human ressistance of soldiers are more over the top then scary and the only best actors in the whole movie are the zombies!
While trying to be creative and trying to give a new look on zombies, it's still very cliched and the acting is just terrible. I think it's very overrated but I guess it's still worth a look.
RATING 2/5
